Strange Advert To Sell Electric ATV

A new advert in the USA has to be one of the weirdest ever in the promotion of a brand new electric ATV. Maybe because it is so weird, the manufacturers are hoping it will cause a buzz but this remains to be seen.

Epic vehicles of California wanted to promote their new electric vehicles, one of them being an ATV, with the aim of letting people know that they are not in the old category stereotype of slow and boring just because they are electric. This brought about an advert for an action packed thriller that involved chases and a killer wasp.

The promo film for the ATV and other electrical vehicles, lasting six minutes, features two friends who go on an off road hunting trip and along the way find a human skull and stop to investigate. Not sure what they have in common with all-terrain vehicles but the action film does involve a chase scene in which the men drive the Epic all-terrain vehicles at top speed while they are being chased by the killer wasp and proving that the electric quad is anything but slow.

The advert/promo film became an immediate hit when it showed on YouTube, however, for reasons unknown it was then taken off air. Maybe the advert caused such a ‘buzz’, Epic was swamped with orders, whatever it was, it seems to have done the job it set out to do and that was to bring attention to electric vehicles.
