The BBC has gotten involved in an event involving thousands of all-terrain vehicles, which aims to raise money for the Children’s Foundation.
A sports reporter for the corporation has teamed up with Billy Ranking and Tom Russell to launch the Children’s Foundation Easter Egg Run which will be taking place this year in April. In the past the charity run has seen thousands of bikers taking part in the six mile run. Last year the race which features the use of ATVs, trikes and motorbikes saw more than 5,000 people taking part, many of them wearing fancy dress. This year it is thought that even more people will get out their Honda ATVs or Honda motorbikes and fine tune them for the event.
The event is a huge hit with participants not only from the Glasgow region but many other parts of the UK. Whether people turn up on second hand quad bikes or a top of the range Ducati, it doesn’t matter; everyone is welcome to take part in the race which helps raise money for thousands of sick children all across the country.
The race will leave from Kelvin Way and end in the Yorkhill hospital, so if you own a trike, ATV or motorcycle and want to take part all you have to do is register.Quad bikes are used for numerous things heavy duty work on farms, for leisure, rescue vehicles and police use them to tackle anti-social behaviour. Now it seems that quad bikes will be put to good use when local radio stars in Glasgow will saddle up for the annual charity run which is in aid of sick children.
