Well known quad bike event comes back to Margate

A very popular event for the last six years running has been quad bike racing on Margate Sands. This year it was thought that the event might have to be scrapped, but it was saved at the last minute thanks to sponsors Thanet District Council. The event has previously drawn in quad bike riders from around the UK, along with around 10,000 onlookers.

This year the Margate Sands quad race event took place on the 10th and 11th of March over the weekend. The fun and games started from 10am in the morning. Numerous national and international riders took to their quad bikes to tackle the sand course at Margate Sands. Races were held for adults and youths, with a total of 24 being enjoyed by the large crowd.

The ATV event has come to be known as one of the very best in the UK related to ATVs and is always organised by the Quad Bike Association. One of the reasons it is so popular is that it costs nothing to watch.

The quad race event provides a great deal of publicity for Margate, as it brings in large numbers of competitors and of course large crowds stand by to watch the action. The Beach Cross weekend is a superb way of drawing people in at the start of what is hoped will be a great summer holiday season. However, behind the scenes there is a lot of planning and preparation, with international and local organisations working together to make sure everything goes off without a hitch.
