With Japan being hit hard recently by an earthquake, manufacturers may be struggling when it comes to finding parts for quad bikes, this might leave farmers struggling. The marketing manager of Blue Wing Honda Group said that supplies of engine parts for Honda quad bikes may been disrupted due to airports, factories and ports suffering damage from the recent earthquake.
Farmers wanting to buy new Honda ATVs may have a wait of two months if they put buying off. Those wanting to buy a new all-terrain vehicles after summer, a time when often they are cheaper, could experience delays in getting their quads.
At the moment things are ok as there are a couple of hundred sub suppliers of parts for each of the new ATVs that are manufactured, however it could be a different story come September. While nothing is for sure it is suspected that there could be some problem obtaining parts in a few months. For instance it takes just one single brake component factory to have been affected and the process of manufacturing Honda quad bikes could be severely disrupted, or even come to a halt, a few months down the line.
However, the marketing manager of Suzuki offered better news and said that they were not expecting any problems with delivery delays for quad bikes. He commented that it would be at the beginning of next year at the earliest, if there were to be any problems. He also declared that the earthquake had not affected the price of all-terrain vehicles.
