The search has begun to find Inland Electrical Grid Girls to act as official representatives for an Australian ATV race. The Finke Desert Race features more than 650 riders taking part in a quad bike, buggy and car race, travelling from Alice Springs to Finke and back, with the girls as ambassadors.
In 2013 the race enters into its 11th year and the Electrical Grid Girls have added a touch of glamour to the race. Along with this, the event is the perfect opportunity to have their presence become known. Only ten girls, out of the many who apply, will be lucky enough to find themselves representing what has become known as one of the world’s most iconic desert races.
Jade Hatt, a local girl, has grown up around quad bike tracks and will be keeping her fingers crossed she is chosen. She said that last year’s search for Grid Girls was very exciting and there is as much competition to become a Grid Girl off track as there is for riders to become winners on it.
Each year the girls play an important part and do a great job in regards to promotion of the race. The 10 lucky girls will also get the chance to take part in an official photo shoot. This means the race and modelling go hand in hand as it offers a fantastic opportunity to kick start a modelling career. The race is one of the largest Australian road events, providing the Grid Girls with plenty of chances to be seen on TV and in international and national print.
