Former quad bike racer devastated following theft

Former championship rider Emma McQuaid has been left devastated following the theft of her brand new quad bike at a recent practice day event. The former champion rider has been making a comeback which has now been cut short thanks to heartless thieves. Ms McQuaid has put up a reward for the return of her Honda TRX 450.

The former Ulster and international champion has only just returned to the quad bike racing circuit after taking time off to save money to purchase the quad. Emma has been taking part in quad bike racing since the age of six and she had hoped to regain her former glory in the world of ATV racing. Emma had been taking part in practices at Tinker Hill.

Following the practice the quad was taken to a van and stored away under lock and key. However, despite there being hundreds of spectators at the event and CCTV cameras, thieves managed to steal the van, take the quad bike out of the back and disappear with it through a hole in hedging. The theft puts an abrupt end to the quad bike racing season for Emma before it even got started. Emma was said to be ‘gutted’ by the theft, as she had earned and saved every penny to buy the bike and was looking forward to competing again. Along with the reward of £1,000, police are asking for anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious to contact them or Crimestoppers. It is always important to secure your quad bike when it is not in use.
