When Chad Wienen won the ATV MX Championships of 2012, no one would have faulted him if he had chosen to take a well-earned break. However, he kept pushing on and, on September 29, went on to win the 35th Montreal Supercross on his race ATV.
He took first place at the packed Olympic Stadium in Canada in front of thousands of race quad fans. There was plenty of excitement, thanks to such riders as Josh Creamer, Cody Miller and Thomas Brown.
In the qualifying round of the race, Adrian Mangieu took the lead from Wienen, but not for long and Wienen managed to regain the lead and went on to record the fastest lap on his Yamaha YFZ 450R. Thomas Brown and Josh Creamer both fought hard in qualifying with Brown managing to hold onto seconnd place and Creamer coming in just behind in third. They were followed by Keven Vachon in fourth and Adrian Mangieu in fifth.
Round Two was also a tense battle between John Natalie, Josh Upperman, Cody Miller, and Richard Pelchat, with all of them wanting the top spot for the main event. Natalie took the top spot with Upperman coming behind, followed by Pelchat, Bobby Desjardins and Cody Miller.
In the main event of the evening, Upperman came out of the starting gate in first place but was quickly overtaken by Wienen, who then remained in front for the rest of the race. Thomas Brown, on his Yamaha, rode into second place, battling with Creamer who passed him, only to be overtaken again by Brown. Creamer could only manage second, with Natalie fourth and Pelchat fifth.
