Ramsgate, Kent got very busy over the weekend of October 20 – 21 as riders, along with their mechanics and supporters, descended on the town as the Beach Cross race took place. Featuring quad bikes and solo bikes, it was the third time the race had been held in Ramsgate.

Each of the riders taking part in the race not only wanted to finish first to take the crown of Ramsgate, but it was also the final round of the British Beach Cross Championship, which was spread out over six rounds.

More than 30 competitors took part in the race, coming not only from all across the UK, but also from mainland Europe. In the lead in the solo class before the race was Arnaud Degousee, who faced some big names like Cedric Tosatto and Marc Decourt in the quest to keep hold of his lead. One of the leading British riders in the event was Ali Davies, who locals were no doubt out in force to support.

In the quad bike class, Luke Sanders of Ramsgate competed against some of the very best quad bike racers. Prior to the weekend, Jermome Bricheux was leading the Quad Championship Pro Class, with Jean Luc Taccoen not far behind him.

Along with enjoying 12 action-packed races, on both of the days the action started off with The Gorilla on a Quad. Results for the race have yet to be confirmed, so stay tuned to the event’s website to see how the race quad riders got on.
