Maniac off-roaders in Werribee Australia no longer have anywhere to hide now that police officers have quad bikes. Members of the Victoria Operations Response unit have undertaken a traffic blitz in a three day operation to increase the presence of police along with tackling dangerous driving by youngsters and road trauma.

The quad bikes have allowed police to be able to move quickly and over terrain that would have otherwise been inaccessible. This includes remote areas such as the Werribee River and Skeleton Creek. According to sources, police handed out 40 penalty notices along with making two arrests throughout the operation. A spokesman said that the crackdown would continue on anti social driving. Australia is reportedly suffering the same problem as the UK in regards to anti-social behaviour. This is typically seen in parkland and along trails where previously police found it hard to reach. The crackdown is the result of a forum which was set up, the Road Trauma and Hoon Forum, aimed to tackle dangerous off road driving and road trauma.

Throughout the three day operation quad bikes along with all terrain vehicles in the style of buggies were used and are said to be just one part of a bigger plan. For now there is nowhere to hide in the outback that the quads are unable to reach, providing residents with a great deal of peace of mind and making it a lot safer for the many walkers and hikers in the region.
