Second quad bike to boost East Herts policing

Filed under: Quad Bikes News — Mat on May 2, 2013

The police seem to be finding their Honda quad bikes useful if this piece from the Hertfordshire Mercury is anything to go by:

POLICE in East Herts can rev up their rural patrols after being given a second quad bike.
The new bike will be in addition to the ATV already donated by Honda UK.
Safer neighbourhood inspector Chris Hunt said: “We have been incredibly fortunate that a local resident wanted to fund a new quad bike.
“The current ATV has been invaluable in patrolling hard to reach areas and now we have double the patrol power.”
East Herts chief inspector Gerry McDonald said: “Our very generous benefactor wished to remain anonymous, but we are really grateful to them for this amazing donation.
“We have also obtained funding from Bishop’s Stortford Town Council for a trailer to increase the capability and range of the new quad bike.
“Our rural communities are very important to us and we want to provide them with the best possible service.”

Thanks to Stuart Findley who set us a link to a YouTube video of a quick look back at the 2004 QRA British Championship season. There’s a lot of familiar faces on there including our very own Keith Knowles who can be glimpsed at 2:00 in the video. Check the video out here:

Unbelieveably mint 300 being serviced, only 800KM’s since 1998!

Filed under: Quad Bikes News — Mat on April 25, 2013

I just couldn’t believe how tidy this 300 was when it came into our workshop, this bike has obviously very well cared for! Only covered 800KM’s since 1998. This quad must have been stored inside as even the black plastics haven’t even the remotest hint of being bleached by the sun! It’s rare to see such an old bike in this quality condition!

A timely reminder to keep your quad secure

Clitheroe Advertiser has an article in it about the attempted theft of a quad bike from a Ribble Valley business. Chains, datatags and trackers can all be used to help deter thieves.

“Thieves fled when security staff found them trying to steal a quad bike from the Dunbia abattoir at Sawley last Thursday night.

Inspector Graham Lister, of Clitheroe police, said: “We wish to warn quad bike owners to keep them secure, and to ensure they have a record of all the bike’s details, otherwise they are very difficult to trace.””

Very tidy Honda 450 Foreman

Filed under: Quad Bikes News — Mat on

Here at KIK we get a lot of different machinery coming through the door but this 450 Foreman caught our eye. The owner of the bike has just bought a Logic Sheep Snacker so the quad has been in to have the socket fitted. We spotted the very low mileage and can’t believe there are many bikes of this type in the country as low as 1865KM! We hope they’re happy with their Sheep Feeder and we’re sure there are many more years of good work left in the bike!
