Police in South Yorkshire have another tool in their arsenal when it comes to catching the bad guys. They are not so much the flying squad, as the flying quad thanks to their new weapon an all terrain vehicle.
This new addition for police in Wath South Yorkshire ensures that the bad guys have nowhere to hide as it allows officers to be able to follow and track down suspects who believe they can outwit the police using alleyways, rough paths and fields. Criminals are now being outwitted as the quad bikes are able to follow even over the roughest of terrain.
The four wheeler vehicle has been donated by Kymco UK and is used by specially trained officers in order to be able to beat anti social behaviour that the area has been suffering from. Officers were given lessons on how to handle and drive the quad safely thanks to funding from the Safer Rotherham Partnershop.
The officers have also been outfitted with safety gear and protective clothing allowing them to tackle crime in all weather. The bike means they are able to get to areas that otherwise would be inaccessible. It also allows the police to extend their capabilities in regards to how they are able to tackle and deal with antisocial behaviour and nuisance vehicles which should not be on the road in the first place. The quad bike in question is a road legal MXU400 and is used to tackle crime in the Wentworth North area, an area which includes Swinton, West Malton, Brampton and Wath.
The crime fighting pair are also visiting schools in the area to show off their quad and also highlight the dangers of antisocial behaviour and off road biking.
