No one who has a passion for racing can’t forget the great Ayrton Senna, and now an 11 year old named after the legendary racing driver is following in his footsteps. The only difference is that the young Ayrton Knowles races using quad bikes as opposed to Formula 1 racing cars.
The youngster is now in his 4th year in quad bike racing and has made a huge impression during the British Championship. He came in 2nd in 2010 in the 50cc class and is racing in the 100 cc for ages nine to thirteen and at the moment is 3rd with another three rounds left to race. He is also the leader in the Northern Championships at 70 points margin and another four rounds left to race. It seems that just like his namesake, the young Ayrton is set to become a champion and will go far in the world of quad bike racing.
The youngster’s father, Keith, has instilled a passion for quad bike racing within his son from a very early age, himself being involved in the sport for 30 years with his son a regular at the track side. Today, Keith is manager of KIK ATVs located on Pendle Trading Estate. He gets his sons quad bike ready for races both in the workshop and at the track side. Young Ayrton uses a purpose built high spec quad that comes from Cobra Moto in the United States of America. The youngster has already gained attention and is supported by numerous sponsors including the Cobra Moto factory along with Motul oils and KBC helmets.
