Sponsorship for the Australasian Safari has been secured from Tourism Western Australia for two more years. This will ensure that the race quad event will remain in the state.
The event is popular with competitors who tackle a 3,500km course on quad bikes, four wheel drive vehicles and motorbikes.
The endurance race has a strong following internationally and locally. All those taking part have to deal with the outback once the event gets underway. Competitors usually travel around 600 km per day, all trying to get the best times.
The event also allows competitors to enjoy the beauty of the region and all that Western Australia has to offer. The safari allows plenty of exposure for Western Australia and the beautiful landscape, thanks to the event being broadcast in over 130 countries around the world.
Competitors turn up to take part in the race quad event from all over the world and it has gained a great reputation as being the toughest race in the Asia-Pacific region.
The event director said that the Safari has gone from strength to strength and has received a great deal of attention from its connection with the Dakar Rally in 2012. People do expect Western Australia to provide a challenge and the Safari does not disappoint.
The director went on to say that it wouldn’t be possible to have the race without the support of local communities. The two year deal means that they will be able to continue highlighting Western Australia.
